These came through on my feed and since I don't have a lag pan I purchased. "Wow" is all I can say. I haven't baked with these yet, but they are beautiful. Feel extremely durable and I love the fact that you basically get 2 pans. They are almost if not exactly the same size. Very happy. Can't wait to bake in them.
Very heavy pans. They are also small. it is hard to tell from the photos, but the bread loaves were pretty small, and in the end bread did not bake as I had wanted . I returned the pans.
Love this! I haven’t made a boulle since I received this. A loaf is just so much more convenient.
Absolutely love this for my sourdough loafs!!! I was able to season it perfectly and nothing sticks! The heat distribution is okay, I ended up have to put a cooking pan on the bottom to prevent the bottom from burning. I love the color and it works perfectly.
It’s the perfect size for a loaf of sourdough sandwich bread. Because the lid can also be used as a second bread pan, I can simultaneously cook two loafs the same size and shape from this one bread pan/dutch oven. My wife thinks it’s very pretty, so I got points there. Because it’s fairly thick cast iron, it develops a perfect crust on my bread loaves and cooks them very evenly. Great quality, very durable, and a good value for the money. I highly recommend it.

How do I properly clean and care for my cookware?
Generally, hand washing with warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge or dishcloth is recommended for most cookware, especially items with non-stick coatings. Harsh detergents and dishwashers can damage non-stick surfaces. For enameled cast iron, avoid thermal shock and let it cool before washing.
What are the benefits of enameled cast iron cookware?
Enameled cast iron combines the heat retention and durability of traditional cast iron with the convenience of not needing seasoning. The enamel coating prevents rust, allows for cooking acidic foods without a metallic taste, and simplifies cleaning and maintenance. It also offers colorful designs, making it decorative as well as functional.
What should I do if the enamel chips?
Minor scratches can happen over time, but deep gouges can expose the cast iron underneath and make the enamel more prone to chipping. Chipped enamel does not affect how the pot cooks.
To prevent enamel damage, avoid banging the cookware and use only wooden, nylon, or silicone utensils.
Although some enameled cast iron Dutch ovens are listed as dishwasher-safe, it is recommended to hand-wash them. Also, make sure it's cooled before washing with warm, soapy water.
How does enameled cast iron work?
Enameled cast iron cookware has a cast iron core covered by a coating of enamel that gives versatility and ease of use.
Here's how it works:
•
Enameled Coating The enamel coating is smooth and durable, protecting the cast iron from rust and making the cookware easier to clean than traditional cast iron. This enamel coating is made of fused glass particles sprayed onto the cast iron and melted down.
•
No Seasoning Needed Because of the enamel coating, these Dutch ovens do not require seasoning.
•
Versatility Enameled cast iron can be used on the stovetop or in the oven.
•
Non-Reactive Interior The enamel coating is non-reactive, so you can cook acidic foods without harming the pot.
•
Heat Retention and Distribution Like bare cast iron, enameled cast iron provides excellent heat distribution and retention.
•
Easy to Clean The smooth enamel surface is much easier to clean than traditional cast iron, and you can use soap.
•
Durability Enameled cast iron cookware is durable and can last for generations if cared for properly.
It is important to remember that the enamel coating is like glass, so sudden temperature changes can cause it to crack.
Do I need to season enameled cast iron?
Enameled cast iron cookware does not require seasoning. The enamel coating on the inside of enameled cast iron acts like a permanent seasoning, so you don't have to season it.
What features should I look for in a Dutch oven?
Consider the following features:
- Handles: Look for wide, looped handles that are easy to grip, even with oven mitts.
- Lid: A heavy, tight-fitting lid locks in moisture. Some lids have self-basting dimples or spikes on the interior to redistribute condensation back into the pot. A flat lid with raised edges can be used to rest utensils or hold ice for enhanced moisture retention.
- Interior Color: Lighter-colored interiors make it easier to monitor browning and fond development, while darker interiors hide stains and scratches better.
- Knob Material: Metal knobs are oven-safe to higher temperatures, while plastic knobs stay cooler on the stovetop but may need to be replaced for oven use. Removable knobs offer the best of both worlds.
Can I put my enameled cookware in the dishwasher?
No, it is not recommended to put enameled cookware in the dishwasher. The harsh detergents and potential for scratching can damage the enamel coating, leading to rust and degradation over time.
